Academic
- A minimum 2:1 or above honours degree is required for Secondary teaching in Drama & PE
- A 2:2 or above honours degree is required for Secondary teaching in subjects of Art, Geography, History, RE, Music, Computing with ICT, Design & Technology, English, Mathematics, MFL and Science
- A minimum 2:2 honour honours degree is required for Primary School Teaching
- At least 3 GCSE’s grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics or recognised equivalent qualifications
General
- All candidates must demonstrate professional suitability through interview and must obtain medical and enhanced DBS clearance according to established University of Cumbria procedures
- It is recommended to obtain school experience in a mainstream UK school observing a class in your chosen teaching specialism before applying but it is recognised that this is not always possible
- A satisfactory academic (university) reference and a satisfactory professional reference if more than three years since academic study
