I have been involved as a Governor since 2008. Chairing the Finance and Premises Committee and as Vice chair for the past two year. My involvement with the School goes back over 30 years as both my son and grandchildren have been pupils. My own background is in finance having worked for 30 years for Barclays Bank. I spent four years as a school bursar before taking early retirement. I then worked on a part-time basis as a finance officer for a local authority. Outside of work I have been Treasurer of the Friends of King Edward VII Hospital for over 30 years. When I took early retirement I became a Voluntary director of a national charity that covered Friends Groups across the country. I was fortunate in 2006 to be awarded an MBE for my services to charity. I was closely involved involved in the community as a parent of three children and a pre-school leader with an interest in education and a passion for creating the best opportunities for children. I became a governor in order to pursue this interest, develop my understanding and to bridge the perceived gap when children move into secondary education. It is a privilege to be part of the school’s development and I thoroughly enjoy it. Hello.
I have been a Governor at the school for the last ten years. My involvement started when my children were pupils at the School. I trained and qualified as an Architectural Technician and have spent over 40 years working in design, building and management. I am currently working as Buildings and Estate Fabric Manager for a large UK listed Plc. It is my experience in building and maintenance work that I bring to the Governing body and I am currently a member of the Finance and Premises Committee. My outside interested include Steam railways – full-size and model, music, cooking and thoroughbred cars.
My background is as a consultant working for KPMG, an international accountancy firm, helping clients in audit reviews, implementing structural changes and in financial matters. Prior to KPMG I have 15 years in various roles for companies managing Finance, IT and Strategy departments as well as delivering large scale projects. Educationally I have a degree in Computing and Management from King's College and a Master’s degree from Henley Business School where I was also president of my year. I am married and have three daughters, the youngest of whom goes to Clewer as well as a nephew who also attends. I was brought-up near to Windsor and even know some fellow parents who I went to school with!!!!. As a parent governor I will look to leverage my experiences from the private sector with the Governing body as well as the Finance and Premises Committee. When I'm not travelling lots with work, I am a keen member of Windsor Lawn Tennis Club playing in league matches around Berkshire and whenever I have 5-6 hours spare - which isn't often - I enjoy playing golf.
